Learning another language is an engaging and stimulating challenge, but it can also be a path with its own difficulties. At L’Altra Lingua, we support students step by step, helping them develop effective learning strategies and become increasingly independent. From the very first lesson, Italian is used as the language of communication, so that students can immediately interact with the teacher and, in group courses, with their classmates. Activities and teaching materials are always up to date and tailored to the students’ level, providing varied and stimulating language input. Lessons develop listening, speaking, reading and writing in a balanced way, with a focus on using the language in real communicative contexts. Grammar plays an important role, but it is always seen as a tool for communication. It is introduced gradually, with constant attention to the practical use of the language.

General Italian language courses are designed for students of all levels, from A1 to C2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Preparation courses for Italian language certifications
Preparation courses for CILS, CELI and PLIDA certifications are designed for students who wish to take an official Italian language exam. Lessons focus on the different parts of the exam through mock tests, guided practice and authentic materials. Students become familiar with the structure of the exam and develop effective strategies to approach each section of the test. Courses can be organized for all levels and adapted to each student’s schedule and individual goals. CILS, CELI e PLIDA Preparation courses for CILS, CELI and PLIDA certifications are designed for students who wish to take an official Italian language exam. It's also possible to attend preparation courses for the Italian language certification required for citizenships application.L’Altra Lingua is not an exam centre, but supports students as they prepare for the test.

• Course fees apply to all courses. Courses can be attended one-to-one, in pairs or in small groups of 3 to 6 participants. Lessons take place in Pavia or online, from Monday to Friday. Teaching materials are included in the course fee. Intensive courses, with lessons every day, are available only in September and October. One-to-one and paired courses can start at any time of the year. Group courses start when at least three students of the same language level have enrolled.
